Nanan's Beginnings

When my mother, who had worked as a nurse for over 30 years, fell seriously ill, she told my sisters and I, "If she recovers, I want to create a place where everyone, from children to adults, can gather." She was fortunate to recover and began manufacturing and selling sweets in 2009, and in 2014, she opened her long-awaited cafe in Usa City, Oita Prefecture. She has provided meals and sweets that are carefully made with ingredients and nutrients, with a focus on "things that will invigorate both the mind and body. Things that you want your loved ones to eat."

At our Tokyo store, we use a far-infrared roaster from Kyoto to roast fair-trade, pesticide-free specialty coffee beans.
