What is Terraced Yuzu?

What is Tanada Yuzu?

Tanada Yuzu is an exceptional yuzu grown in the mountainous region of Fukuoka Prefecture, at an altitude of 400 meters. The yuzu used in our sweets is characterized by its large size and rich fragrance. Cultivated in the pristine environment of nature, where the temperature difference between day and night is significant, these yuzu are grown without the use of pesticides or fertilizers.

Around December, these yuzu are harvested from the mountain village, where clear rivers flow, and transformed into delights like confiture and yuzu peel at Nanan’s workshop.

The black spots on the yuzu’s surface are a result of "salvestrol," a natural antimicrobial compound produced by the yuzu itself. These spots are a testament to the fact that the fruit was grown without pesticides and are also recognized as a nutrient with natural anti-cancer properties, making them even more remarkable.
